USE OF THE RESERVE WHPA WINDMILL RIDGE NATURE RESERVE & TRAIL --> We welcome your use and enjoyment of the reserve at your own risk, and ask that you respect our Association mission, "To protect and make accessible the natural character of this ridge, together with its wildlife habitat and associated biodiversity, for the present and future generations". --> Dogs are permitted on the trails, but please keep them on a leash. --> Mountain bikes and horses are permitted on the trails, but do not use them during the spring wet season or other wet muddy periods. --> Motorized vehicles are not permitted in the reserve. --> Outdoor fires are permitted only at the Pinnacle Shelter Fire Pit and require permission from the fire warden [802]387-5778 or [802]722-3178 Firewood must be carried in. --> Please carry out all trash. OVERNIGHT RESERVATIONS FOR THE CABIN --> Reservations are mandatory to stay at the cabin. DUNN NATURE TRAIL - Stephan Martin Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary --> Human pedestrian traffic only. --> Please stay on the trails so as to minimize disturbance of the plants and animals. --> No bicycles or mechanized vehicles of any kind. --> No dogs (except service dogs), horses, pack animals, other livestock, or any pets. --> No hunting, fishing or trapping. --> No removal of any game, wildlife, plant, dead or alive. --> No use of metal detectors or removal of artifacts. --> No fires. --> No camping. --> Please observe a strict low impact, carry-in/carry-out, leave-no-trace policy to help us keep the Sanctuary pristine. [Note: These special Wildlife Sanctuary regulations are of necessity considerably more stringent than those applicable to the remainder of the Windmill Hill Ridge Nature Reserve & Trail system.]
